Wiebke Nelißen studied chemical engineering at the Technische Universität Dortmund, where she graduated in December 2007 on "Maßgeschneiderte Polymere durch gezielte Fällung". She has been working as scientific assistant at the laboratory of Plant and Process Design at the TU Dortmund since May 2008.
The focus of her research is set on the methodical generation on flowsheet alternatives at an early stage of process development. This methodology incorporates experiments, theory and empiricism. The design of the methodology is based on a purification process of plant secondary metabolites.
